Julia D.Flanagan;79;of 426 Jones St.;Belle Vernon;died Saturday;April 9;1994 in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Mrs.Flanagan was born June 18;1914;in Glassport;a daughter of the late James J.and Sicily Murphy Donovan. She retired from employment with the former Miller’s Department Store in Charleroi in 1979. Mrs.Flanagan was a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon and was a volunteer with the Belle Vernon Meals on Wheels program. She was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon;Catholic Daughters of America Court No.1522;the Uniontown; Mon Valley and Magic City Bridge Clubs and the Belle Vernon Women’s Club. Her husband;Thomas J.Flanagan died April 9;1967. Surviving are a daughter;Dr.Elizabeth (Betsy) Flanagan of Keswick;Va.and a sister;Mary Elizabeth (Betty) Donovan of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. A Prayer Service will be held at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the funeraL home;followed by a 10 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church;Belle Vernon. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ferguson Funeral Home Inc.is handling arrangements.
