Jules Matthews of Belle Vernon R.D.1 died Sunday;Dec.5;1976;at 7:27 a.m.at Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was 82. Mr.Matthews was a U.S.Army veteran of World War I;and was a member of V.F.W.Post 1190;Monessen. Survivors include his widow;Marcelle Fleury Matthews;two sons;Raymond of Belle Vernon R.D.1 and Edward of North Charleroi;a daughter;Mrs.John (Lillian) Smereczniak of Belle Vernon R.D.2;seven grandchildren;two great-grandchildren;and two brothers;Fred of Fairhope and Victor of Turtle Creek. Friends will be received at the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Home;262 Donner Ave.;Monessen;from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Monday and Tuesday. Services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m.at the funeral home. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Ed Melenyzer Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
