Judith “Judy” Lutes-Baker, 73, of Stockdale, Pennsylvania, passed away on December 7, 2025, surrounded by her family. A lifelong resident of Stockdale, Judy dedicated more than 30 years to shaping young minds as a teacher, a role she cherished and carried with pride.
A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Judy cheered loudly, loved fiercely, and never missed a chance to support her team. She had a deep love for animals and always opened her heart—and often her home—to any furry friend in need. She also enjoyed playing euchre and other games, especially when they brought her closer to family and friends.
Judy’s greatest pride in life was her daughters. She considered Sarah and Jeannie her pride and joy and took immeasurable pride in the strong, capable women they became. Judy taught her girls to do the right thing, even when it was hard, and often reminded them that just because they can do something doesn’t mean they should. These lessons became guiding values that shaped not only their lives, but the lives of everyone who loved Judy.
She is survived by her husband, Craig Baker of Stockdale; her daughters, Sarah Baker-Fess (Tommy) of Monongahela and Jeannie Baker-Piccini (Tony) of Ben Avon; and her stepson, Craig "Duke" Baker (Holly Prentice) of Wickhaven. She is also survived by her brothers, Mark Lutes and Gary Lutes, both of Stockdale; and her grandchildren, Michael and Victoria Flaherty, Parker and Ellie Piccini, Ally Baker, Craig “Robbie” Baker, and Jace Szedon.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents, William and Rose Lutes; and her stepdaughter, Kelly Baker.
Friends will be received on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 from 2 to 4 P.M. and 6 to 8 P.M. in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com.
