Obituary

Joyce A. Parks, 77, of N. Belle Vernon, passed away on Friday, April 18, 2025 in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. A daughter of the late William P. and Anna Fike McGavitt, Sr., she was born in Charleroi on May 15, 1947.

Protestant by faith, and a lifelong resident of Belle Vernon, Joyce enjoyed crocheting afghans, hats, and gloves. She also enjoyed cooking and baking her famous buns. Joyce was a certified nursing assistant at Manor Care in Bethel Park for 17 years and had several other jobs.

She is survived by a son and daughter in-law, Frank and Melinda Sellaro of Republic, two daughters and sons in-law, Rosanna and Robert Radacy, with whom she made her home, and Melissa and David Richards, all of Belle Vernon, two sisters, Linda Dudeck of Charleroi and Donna (Steve) Tiernan of Belle Vernon, a brother, James (Cathy) McGavitt of Belle Vernon; and six grandchildren, Tre Opfer, Devin Huber, William Huber, Haylee Huber, Robert (Tissa) Radacy, Jr., and Stacey (Petey) Redman. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Frank Sellaro, Sr. on May 29, 1975, her second husband, Richard W. Parks Jr. on October 18, 2003, and a brother, William P. McGavitt, Jr.

Friends will be received on Wednesday from 10 AM to 12 noon in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300. www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com. A funeral service will begin at 12 noon on Wednesday with Rev. Kevin Spear officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
