Josephine C. Bitonti,93,of Fayette City RD,died Monday,Jan.8,2001,in Jefferson Hospital. She was born Oct. 14,1907,in Sambiase, Italy,a daughter of the late Joseph and Rosemarie Caparella Cimino. She was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church in Belle Vernon. She was preceded in death by her husband, John Bitonti,Sr.;two sons,Peter Bitonti,Sr. and John Bitonti,Jr.;two sisters, Carmella Cefala and Angelina Strangis; and two brothers, Ralph and Louis Cimino. Surviving are her daughter, Arlene Vargo and husband Joseph of Fayette City RD,with whom she made her home;two daughters-in-law,Janet Bitonti of Roscoe and Devina Bitonti of Belle Vernon; six grandchildren,Terri Shimko and husband Kevin,Dr. Joseph K. Vargo and wife Leigh Ann,Peter Bitonti Jr.and special friend Erin Lubich,David Bitonti and wife Kim,Lisa Jesko and husband Scott,and John W. Bitonti and wife,Susan and seven great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Eley-McCrory Funeral Home,Inc.,334 Main St.,Fayette City on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday until 10 a.m. when a Blessing service will take place in the funeral home with the Rev. Fr. Donald Trexler officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
