Joseph W. Hags; 92; of Export (Mamont area); died Thursday; Jan. 16; 2003; in William Penn Care Center; Jeannette. He was born Sept. 4; 1910; in Rankin; a son of the late Louis and Mary (Peters) Hags. He was a member of St. John Baptist de la Salle Church; Delmont. Joseph was a retired engineer from the U.S. Steel Research Center in Monroeville. He was a life member of both the Iron and Steel Engineers and American Society of Metals. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a sister; Bella Murphy; and three brothers; Lawrence; Vincent and Robert Hags. Joseph is survived by his loving wife of 56 years; Betty (Elgin) Hags; three sisters; Rose Cenis of Blairsville; Lillian Anderson of Turtle Creek and Dorothy Humberson of Wilkins Township; a great-nephew; Joseph; and a number of nieces and nephews. Family and friends will be received at the VAIA FUNERAL HOME INC.; 463 Athena Drive; Delmont; 724-468-1177; Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Joseph’s funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday at 10 a.m. in St. John Baptist de la Salle Church with Father James M.
