Joseph Taylor of 43 Schoonmaker Ave.;Monessen;died Friday;Dec.31;1976;at 7:21 a.m.in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was 82. Mr.Taylor was born Dec.13;1894 in Orange;Va.;a son to the late Robert and Ida Hoord Taylor. A resident of Monessen for over 50 years;Mr.Taylor was retired from American Chain and Cable Company;Inc.of Monessen. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and its Sunday School where he served as secretary of his class. Mr.Taylor also was amember of NAACP and the Senior Citizens Club of Monessen. Survivors include a brother;Ernest R.Taylor of Pittsburgh;a sister;Mrs.Marshall (Mary) Johnson of Washington;D.C.;a sister-in-law;Clara Mae Taylor of Pittsburgh and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Beverly C.Draper Funeral Home;608 Sixth St.;Monessen;Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home chapel. A special tribute will be made by Rev.Larry Ross;pastor of First Baptist Church;Monessen. Rev.Clarence McCraw will give the eulogy. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
