Joseph Stagi;a former Belle Vernon and Monessen resident;died Monday;March 13;1972 in Dunn Loring;Va. He was born April 2;1988 in Italy and came to America as a child;settling in Belle Vernon. He later moved to Monessen and lived there for many years. He had been employed at the open hearth department of the Monessen plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp and retired after 19 years of service. He was a member of the Knights of Pythias Lodge of Monessen and the Garibaldi Lodge of Dunlevy. Surviving are two sons;Joseph Jr.of Tampa;Fla.and William of Vienna;Va.;five daughters;Mrs.Arthur (Elvera) LeClercq of Baltimore;Mrs. Delbert (Elda) Miller of Pittsburgh;Mrs.Eva Smith of St.Petersburg;Fla.;Mrs. Lillian Dibuono of Belle Vernon and Mrs.Jess (Gloria) Stopford of Monessen. Friends will be received after 2 p.m. Wednesday;March 15 in the Shelby Ferguson Funeral Home;Belle Vernon. Visiting hours will be from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesday. Services will be held Thursday;march 16 at 1 p.m. from the funeral home with the Rev.Joseph C.Rial Jr.;pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Monessen. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby Ferguson;funeral director;in charge.
