Joseph Spadafore, 78, of 908 Dennis Ave., Monessen, died Tuesday, May 23, 1989, at 10:10 a.m in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Monessen on Oct. 10, 1910, a son of the late Achille and Jennie Panza Spadafore. Mr. Spadafore was a member of St. Cajetan Roman Catholic Church of Monessen, and the Sons of Italy and Italian Society of Mutual Aid , also in Monessen. He retired from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Company in 1976 in the steam plant department. Mr. Spadafore is survived by his wife, Tressa DeRose Spadafore; two daughters, Mrs. Barry (Constance) Sadler of Charleroi and Mrs. John (Elaine) Zavage of South Park; three grandchildren, John, Lisa and Julie Zavage; two brothers, Patsy Spadafore of Monessen and William Spadafore of Belle Vernon; and three sisters, Mrs Edith Venneri of Belle Vernon, Mrs. Frank (Adeline) Amedeo of Clairton and Mrs. Sylvia Barcelona of Donora. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Raymond D. Dalfonso Funeral Home, 441 Reed Avenue, Monessen. A Blessing service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 9:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St. Cajetan Roman Catholic Church with Msgr. P. Lino Ramellini as celebrant. Interment will be at Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Parish Rosary will be recited at the funeral home on Thursday at 8 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by the Raymond D.Dalfonso Funeral home.
