Obituary

Jseph (Shotfire) Corbett of 120 Elks Place,Belle Vernon,died Monday.June 22,1981,at 2:10 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 69. Mr.Corbett was born March 19,1912, a son of the
late William and Sarah Beck
Corbett . He had lived in the
Belle Vernon,Rostraver area
for over 55 years.
He was a member of St.
Paul's Lutheran Church,
Monessen, the Rostraver
Coal Center and Long Branch
Sportsmens Associations,
and the Belle Vernon Moose.
A life member of the
Rostraver PTA, he was a
former neighborhood commissioner with the Boy
Scouts of America and had
been active in area square
dancing activities for over 50
years.
A former mine worker, Mr
Corbett retired in 1977 from
the coke plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, Monessen
plant.
Survivors include his
widow, Dorothy Frew Corbett,three sons,Joseph W. of
Raleigh, N. C., Donald L. of
Waynesburg, a trooper with
the Pennsylvania State
Police, and David T. of
Mather, Pa , two brothers,
James Corbett of Norris, Ill.
and Paul Corbett of Eighty
Four, Pa., three sisters, Mrs
Mary Fowler of Coraopolis,
Pa , Mrs. Josephine Moore of
Leisure City, Fla., and Mrs.
Margaret Radek of
Pricedale and nine grand
children.
Friends will be received at
the Shelby D. Ferguson
Funeral Home, 700 Broad
Ave., Belle Vernon Monday
from 7 to 9 p m and Tuesday from 2 to 4 p m and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home,with Pastor Dennis W.Moore of the Hope Memorial Lutheran Church,Smithton,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
