Joseph S.Layhue of 305 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon formerly of Hartford;Conn.;died Tuesday;Sept.16;1980;at 3:05 p.m.in Presbyterian Hospital;Pittsburgh. He was 55. Mr.Layhue was born June 19;1925;in Uniontown;a son of the late Joseph and Lena Layhue. A resident of Hartford;Conn.;for the past 20 years;he recently moved back to Belle Vernon. Mr. Layhue was retired on disability as a security guard for K-Mart Corp.of Manchester;Conn. He was a World War II veteran having served with the U.S.Navy. He was a Protestant by faith. Survivors include one daughter;Mrs.Charles (Barbara) Williams of Belle Vernon;two sons;Gerald E.and James Layhue;both of Belle Vernon;two brothers;Harry Layhue of Elizabeth and Clarence Layhue of Brookvale;Pa.;four sisters;Mrs.George (Alverta) Rodgers of Monessen;Mrs.Earl (Ruth) Augustine and Mrs.Pearl Stewart;both of Clarksville;Pa.;and Mrs.Rose Carson of Cheyenne;Wyo.;and four grandchildren. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Wednesday in the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home;626 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Services will be held in the funeral home at 11 a.m.Thursday with Pastor Allen Yoder of the Riverside Tabernacle of Sunnyside officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
