Joseph Rogowitz of 153 Pennsylvania Blvd.;Monessen;died Sunday;February 22;1981;at 12:15 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital following a declining illness. Mr.Rogowitz was born June 1;1910;in Boston;Mass.;a son of the late Harry and Racheal Stone Rogowitz. A resident of Monessen most of his life;Mr.Rogowitz was retired from the Electrical Department of the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Mr.Rogowitz was a U.S.Army veteran having served in World War II and was a member of American Legion Post 28;Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1190 and Mon Valley Association of Retired Steelworkers;all of Monessen. He was preceded in death by two sisters;Jeanette Chodes and Mae Newmark;and two brothers;Harry and Meyer Rogowitz. Survivors include his widow;Mary Rizzutto Rogowitz;a son;Harry M.Rogowitz of Kansas City;Kansas;one brother;Ben Rogowitz of Halandale;Fla.and a number of nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the Robert A.Billick Funeral Home;Inc.;Grand Blvd.and Marion Ave.;Monessen;from 7 to 9 p.m.Monday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Tuesday. Services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 10 a.m.with Rabbi Leonard Winograd officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
