Joseph R. Jones,48,of 265 Mckean Ave.,Donora, a barber,died Saturday, Jan. 22,1966,at 5:40 a.m. in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital after an illness of one week. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio,on July 29,1917,and had lived in California,Pa.,for 30 years. He moved to Donora in 1959 where he established a barbar shop at the same address as his residence. A World War II veteran,he was a member of the William E. Owens Post 695,American Legion of Donora. Survivors include his widow, Anna;four children, Walter,Joseph Jr.,Lillian and Bunny; a stepson, William Leftwich stationed at Ft. Bliss, Tex.;his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter T. Jones of Daisytown;one brother, James Jones of Daisytown;three sisters, Clara of Monessen,Billy of Donora and Victoria of Daisytown. Friends are being received at the late home. Funeral service Tuesday, Jan. 25,in Quinn Chapel A.M.E. Church, Donora,with the Rev. Walter R. Coleman,pastor, officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Beverly C. Draper of Monessen is the funeral director.
