Obituary

Joseph P. Joe Bolchak,76,of Belle Vernon R.D.2,formerly of Gillespie (Fayette City R.D.1),died suddenly Saturday,Feb.9,1991,at 12:40 p.m.at his home. He was born April 12,1914,in Washington Township,Fayette County,a son of the late Frank J.and Magdeline Halgus Bolchak. He was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church,Fayette City,and numerous social and service organizations throughout the Mon Valley. Mr.Bolchak was retired from the tube mill of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corportation's Allenport plant. He was a veteran of World War II,having served in the U.S.Army. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by his first wife,Helen Bednar Bolchak,in 1977,a daughter,Magdelyn A.Muzina,1983,and two brothers,John and Frank Bolchak. Survivors include his wife,Mary Yelanich Bolcchak of Newell,two daughters,Mrs.John (Arlene) Zdilla of Wexford and Mrs.Gregory (Marsha) Grados of Fairhope,four grandsons,Greg,Jeff,Jonathan and David,one brother,Andrew Bolchak of Wickhaven,and one sister,Margaret Pollack of Brownstown (Fayette City R.D. 1). Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and on Tuesday until 9:30 a.m.,when a prayer service will be held in the funeral home,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m.in Holy Spirit R.C.Church,Fayette City,with the Rev.Richard Mackiewicz,pastor,as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Roasry will be recited Monday at 3 p.m.in the funeral home. Wake service will be held Monday at 7:30 p.m.in the funeral home. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
