Obituary

Joseph Panarella, 77,of 55 Reed Ave.,Monessen,died Friday, Aug. 16,1996,in the Greensburg Convalescent Home Greensburg. Born Aug. 16,1918,in Johnstown, he was the son of the late Spirione and Vitina Crescione Pararella.  Mr. Paneralle was employed as a charger in the hot mill at the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.  He was Catholic by faith. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by five brothers, Frank (who died at birth), Frank (who died at the age of 15),Sam,Charles and Michael Panarella and one sister, Christine Torina. Surviving are his wife, Olga Platko Panarella; one son and daughter-in-law,Joseph Michael and Mary Jo Panarella of Onley, Md.,one daughter, JoAnn Bellora of Monessen;four grandchildren, Lisa M. and Marc D. Bellora and Jeana M. and Michael J. Panarella;a brother and sister-in-law, James S. and Josephine Panarella of Belle Vernon and a sister, Anna Anzalone of Santa Cruz, Calif. Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. A Blessing service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home,with the Rev. James W. Clark,parochial vicar at Epiphany of Our Lord Parish, Monessen,officiating.  Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions be made in Mr. Panarella's name to the Greensburg Convalescent Home through the funeral home.
