Joseph Moe Radock; 85; of Belle Vernon; died Wednesday; Dec. 15; 2004; in Jefferson Regional Medical Center. A son of the late Nicholas and Pauline Radish Radock; he was born in Belle Vernon on Feb. 24; 1919. A lifelong resident of Belle Vernon; Mr. Radock was a member of St. George Serbian Orthodox Church of Masontown. He graduated from Belle Vernon High School with the class of 1937. Mr. Radock was a World War II veteran serving in the Ordinance Section of the 5th Army from April 28; 1941; to Oct. 12; 1945; achieving the rank of Tech 4 Sergeant in the European theater of Africa and Italy. He was a member of Belle Vernon VFW Post 699 and American Legion Post 945 of Wormleysburg. Mr. Radock studied radio and television broadcasting at Keystone Electronics School and Radio Television Institute in Philadelphia and the National Radio School in Cleveland. He was a transmitter engineer at WHJB in Greensburg and WJAS in Pittsburgh. He later transferred to WDTV of the Dumont Television Network; which later became KDKA-TV. One of the TV pioneers; he was with KDKA-TV until his retirement in 1984 when he was the technical director in TV master control. Survivors include two sisters; Sophia Cutter of Belle Vernon and Paulette Radock; with whom he made his home; four brothers; Michael Radock of Ann Arbor; Mich. (who died Wednesday evening; Dec. 15; 2004; Richard Radock of Belle Vernon; Stephen Radock of Baltimore; Md.; and Charles Radock of Wexford; and numerous nieces; nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents; he was preceded in death by a brother; George Radock; in 1979. Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE; (724- 929-5300); a Golden Rule Member Firm; 700 Broad Ave.; Belle Vernon. Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Monday; Dec. 20; at 10 a.m. with the Dr. Very Rev. Rodney Torbic officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Services will be conducted by members of Belle Vernon VFW Post 699 in the funeral home on Sunday at 7 p.m.
