Obituary

Joseph Minniti Sr., 73, of Belle Vernon, died Saturday, March 26, 2005, in Mt. Macrina Manor, Uniontown. A son of the late Pete and Anne Minniti, he was born in Gerard, Ohio, on Feb. 28, 1932. Formerly of Monessen, he had resided in Belle Vernon since 1972 and was a member of the Belle Vernon American Legion, Post 659. Mr. Minniti retired in 1985 from the Monessen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation and was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict. Survivors include his wife, Mary Costarella Minniti, a daughter, Val Marie Minniti and her friend, Bill Rotolo of California, three sons and a daughter-in-law, Richard DeVincent of Hollywood, S.C., Anthony and Carol Minniti of Summersville, S.C., and Joseph Minniti and his friend, Kim of Belle Vernon, a sister, Minnie Sala of Donora, three brothers and sisters-in-law, Pete and Connie Minniti, Demetri and Gerry Minniti and Richard and Renee Minniti, all of Monessen, and four grandchildren, Ryan, John, Brent and Keith. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Minniti. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Monday in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC. and CREMATION SERVICE, (724-929-5300), a Golden Rule Member Firm, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon. A blessing service will be on Tuesday, March 29, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Msgr. P. Lino Ramellini officiating. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Members of the Belle Vernon American Legion, Post 659 will meet in the funeral home for services Monday at 7 p.m.
