Joseph Miller,71,of 305 Main st.,Belle Vernon,died suddenly Monday,April 26,1971 at 9:30 p.m. at the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital. Born in Belle Vernon on Oct. 7,1899,he was a retired employee of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel's Monessen Plant. He was a member of the North Belle Vernon Fire Department,Belle Vernon Musical Society and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 3557. Surviving are his widow, Rhoda Hicks Miller;four sons, Charles Miller of Greensburg,Larry Davis and Allan Davis,both of Fayette City,and Melvin Davis of Belle Vernon;three daughters,Mrs. Edward (LaVern) Jakela of Donora,Mrs. Andrew (Jackie) Johnston and Mrs. Robert (Sharon) Boniella,both of Belle Vernon;one brother,Charles Miller of Belle Vernon and nine grandchildren. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,where services will be held Thursday,April 29,at 2 p.m.with the Rev. Charles Colas of the First Baptist Church officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director.
