Obituary

Joseph Michaels,69,Tyrol Pass,Monessen,died Friday,March 6,1992,at 8:26 a.m. in Monessen. He was born March 15,1922,in Homestead,a son of the late John and Anna Julia Vagasky Michaels Sr. Mr.Michaels had resided in Monessen for the past 45 years. He was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon. A veteran of World War II,he had served in the U.S.Marines. He was a member of the Charleroi Post of the VFW. He is survived by three brothers,Frank Michaels of Elizabeth and Elmer Michaels and Anthony Paul Michaels,both of Monessen,four sisters,Mrs.Ann Pagonis of Belle Vernon,Mrs.Helen Martin of Clearwater,Fla.,Mrs.Margaret Mann of Monongahela and Mrs.Ted (Dolores) Zyglowicz of Monessen,and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by a sister,Agnes Michaels and a brother,John Michaels Jr. Friends will be recieved at the Leonard J.Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer service will be held Monday at 9:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. in St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
