Joseph M.Sloboda;Sr.;of Monongahela;R.D.2;died suddenly at Charles DeHainaut residence;with whom he made his home;April 21;1958;at 7:45 p.m. He was born in Czechoslovaki;March 11;1875;and came to Charleroi in 1918 from Greene County. He was a retired steel worker;and was a member of St.Jerome’s church. He is survived by his wife;Catherine Urbany Sloboda;five sons;Stephen of Philadelphia;Paul of Detroit;John;Charleroi;Thomas;Monongahela;and Joseph of Monongahela;R.D.;five daughters;Mrs.Anna Decovitch;Detroit;Mrs.Rose Dehainaur;Monongahela;R.D.;Mrs.Matilda Rechichar;Filbert;Pa.;Mrs.Mary Gency and Mrs.Dorothy Byron;Charleroi;thirty grandchildren;thirty-one great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Francis C.Slezak Funeral Home. Requiem high mass will be sung in St.Jerome’s Church;April 24;1958 at 9 a.m;.;by Rev.James McKeever;and interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Francis C.Slezak is the funeral director.
