Joseph Kornhi of 3642 Beach Drive S.E.,St. Petersburg,Fla.,died Wednesday Nov. 18,1987,at 7 a.m. in St. Anthony's Hospital,St. Petersburg. A former resident of Charleroi,he was 81. Mr. Kornhi was born Feb.1,1906,in Pricedale,a son of the late Joseph and Elizabeth Kerestesi Kornhi. He was a member of Central Bible Church,St. Petersburg. Before moving to Florida in July 1952,he had worked for the C.L. Melenyzer Company as manager of its furniture store in Charleroi. Mr. Kornhi had been owner of Echols Sleep Shop in St. Petersburg for 25 years before retiring in 1976.In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a daughter,Virginia,in 1945. He is survived by his wife,Margaret Trenk Kornhi;and several nieces and nephews.Friends will be received Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon, where services will be held Monday,Nov. 23,at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Donald A. Schnarr,pastor of the First Baptist Church of Belle Vernon,officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. In lieu of flowers,the family suggests donations to Clearwater Christian College,3400 Gulf-to Bay Blvd.,Clearwater,Fla.,34619.Shelby D. Ferguson,funeral director,is in charge of arrangements.
