Obituary

Joseph Katinsky of 509 Coal Alley,Belle Vernon,died at his home Saturday,April 12,1980,at 10 a.m. Mr.Katinsky was 95. He was born in Russia on April 12,1885. He had lived in Belle Vernon for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Belle Vernon. A former miner,he also was retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Mr. Katinsky was preceded in death by his wife,Katherine. He is survived by two sons,Michael Katinsky of Cleveland,Ohio,and Pete Katinsky of Charleroi,four daughters,Mrs.Julia Strubakis of Charleroi,Mrs.Anna Bazilewich of Belle Vernon R.D.2,Mrs,Olga Bachelor of Baltimore,Md.,and Mrs.Josephine Smith of Newport New,Va.,15 grandchildren,19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends are being received Monday,April 14,1980,at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Friends will gather at 10 a.m.Tuesday,April 15,1980,at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church for services,with Father Samuel Smolcic of Holy Trinity Chruch of Charleroi officiating. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
