Joseph Katinsky of 509 Coal Alley;Belle Vernon;died at his home Saturday;April 12;1980;at 10 a.m. Mr.Katinsky was 95. He was born in Russia on April 12;1885. He had lived in Belle Vernon for more than 50 years. He was a member of the Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church of Belle Vernon. A former miner;he also was retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. Mr. Katinsky was preceded in death by his wife;Katherine. He is survived by two sons;Michael Katinsky of Cleveland;Ohio;and Pete Katinsky of Charleroi;four daughters;Mrs.Julia Strubakis of Charleroi;Mrs.Anna Bazilewich of Belle Vernon R.D.2;Mrs;Olga Bachelor of Baltimore;Md.;and Mrs.Josephine Smith of Newport New;Va.;15 grandchildren;19 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. Friends are being received Monday;April 14;1980;at the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home;700 Broad Ave.;Belle Vernon. Friends will gather at 10 a.m.Tuesday;April 15;1980;at Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church for services;with Father Samuel Smolcic of Holy Trinity Chruch of Charleroi officiating. Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
