Joseph J. Hopkins.Sr.56,of Charleroi R.D.1,died at 2:30 a.m.Friday, May 18,1956 in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital of a heart attack. He had been admitted to the hospital on Thursday following the attack which he suffered at home. The deceased was born in Monessen on Feb. 24,1900;and was a stationary engineer at the Pittsburgh Steel Co. He is survived by four sons, John R. of Detroit, Walter of Monessen, Joseph, Jr. of R.D.2, Charleroi and Donald at home;three brothers, Sheldon of Monessen,John B. of Glassport and Kenneth of Wyandot, Mich.; three sisters, Mrs. Ethel Cosil and Mrs. Thelma Gallager,both of Glassport and Mrs. Paul (Leona) Jodon of Monessen and four grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Edwin Melenyzer Funeral Home, Donner avenue, Monessen,after 7 p.m.,May 18,where funeral services will be held Monday,May 21,at 2 p.m. in charge of Rev. Lester Crum of the Evangelical United Brethren Church. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Funeral home visiting hours are from 1 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 10 p.m. Edwin Melenyzer,funeral director.
