Obituary

Joseph C. Helzlsouer,aged 67 years, pioneer resident of Monessen,died Tuesday, March 24,1936,at his home on Schoonmaker avenue,from a heart attack. He had been ailing for the past five months.  Mr. Helzlsouer was born in Germany and came to this country when a small boy.  For a number of years he had been located in Monessen,and for some time past had been employed as a watchman at the Pittsburgh Steel company.  He was a member of St. Leonard's Church and the B.P.O. Elks. Surviving are his wife and four children, Merie, Mathilda,Joseph Jr. and William Helzlsouer,all at home. A brother, Stephen C. Helzlsouer,of Monessen,and two sisters, Mrs. Dennis McCahill of Monessen and Mrs. Mary Miller of the state of Florida,also survive. Funeral services will be held at 10 o'clock Friday morning from St. Leonard's Church in charge of Rev. Owen J. Kirby.  Interment will follow in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
