Joseph Gnora;64;of 224 Second St.;Belle Vernon;died Sunday;July 10;1988;at 6:05 a.m.in Mon Valley Hospital;Carroll Township. Mr.Gnora was born March 18;1924;in Monessen;a son of the late Michael and Mary Hudak Gnora. On Nov.30;1981;he retired from employment in the Sinter Plant of the Monessen Works of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation. Mr.Gnora had been a resident of Belle Vernon the past 25 years. He was a U.S.Army veteran of World War II. Mr.Gnora was a member of Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church;Belle Vernon;and the Disabled American Veterans. In addition to his parents;he was also preceded in death by four brothers;John;George;Paul and Nick Gnora;and by one sister;Anna Kochman. Surviving are his wife;Margaret Tyger Gnora;one daughter;Mrs.Brian (Tammy) Billie;of Belle Vernon;two brothers;Michael Gnora of Monessen and Andrew Gnora of Belle Vernon;one sister;Mrs.Louis (Mary) Swaney;of Monessen;and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.in the Stephen D.Yoney Jr.Funeral Home;First Street and Schoonmaker Avenue;Monessen. A Parastas Service will beheld Tuesday at 8 p.m.in the funeral home. A Funeral Service will be held Wednesday (July 13) at 10 a.m.in Holy Resurrection Orthodox Church;Mary Street;Belle Vernon;with the Very Rev.John Kluchko;pastor;as celebrant. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Stephen D.Yoney Jr.Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
