Joseph F.Ward;aged 78 years;841 Brown street;Belle Vernon;died Tuesday morning;April 19;1949;after a lingering illness;at the home of his son;Thomas;where he resided. He was born December 25;1870;and was a member of St.Sebastian Church. He had been retired from employment at the Monessen plant of the Pittsburgh Steel company for twenty years. He is survived by one son;Thomas Ward of Belle Vernon;with whom he made his home;one daughter;Mrs.Nellie Barton of Chicago;Illinois;one brother and two sisters in Pittsburgh;nine grandchildren and four great-grandchldren. Friends are being received at the Toner Funeral Home in Belle Vernon and services will be held Friday;April 22;with Requiem Mass at 10 a.m.in the St.Sebastian Church in charge of Rev.Fr.Eugene W.Harkins.
