Obituary

Joseph Edward Sedlak of 110 Trenk Ave.,Lynnwood, (Belle Vernon),died suddenly Thursday,Oct.25,1984,at 11:30 p.m. at his home. He was 72. Born in Winburne,Pa.,Jan,22,1912,he was a son of the late John and Mary Berdis Sedlak. Mr.Sedlak was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon,the Belle Vernon Golden Agers and the Charleroi Fishing Club. He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp.,Allenport plant. Surviving are his wife,,Mary Stefan Sedlak,two sons,Dr.Joseph Edward Sedlak of Key Largo,Fla.and Dr.Robert Alan Sedlak of Menomonie,Wisc.,two grandchildren,Wendy and Rob,six brothers,Stephen and Paul,both of Perryopolis R.D.,Rev.Father Valentine Sedlak of Munhall,Albert of Fayette City R.D.and Martin and Thomas Sedlak,both of Winburne,one sister,Mrs.Harold (Mary) Smeal of Niagara Falls,N.Y.,and his mother and father-in-law,Mr.and Mrs.George Stefan of Belle Vernon. Friends will be received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City,Saturday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.and Sunday from 12 noon to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. A prayer service will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home,followed by an 11 a.m. Mass of Christian Burial in St.Sebastian R.C.Church,Belle Vernon. Catholic Daughters of the Americas Court Belle Vernon will recite the Rosary in the funeral home Saturday at 7 p.m. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
