Joseph Edward LaChapelle, 90, of Belle Vernon, passed away Sunday, November 22, 2020. A son of the late Edward and Edith LaChapelle, he was born November 30, 1929 in Glassport. A U.S. Air Force veteran, Joseph attended the Hope Center in Belle Vernon and was a van driver for the Mon Valley Health Center. Survivors include, two stepsons and daughters-in-law, Dennis and Barbara Peters of North Belle Vernon and Paul and Cindy Peters of McDonough, GA, two step grandchildren, Justin Peters and his wife, Erin of Locust Grove, GA and Lauren Heald and her husband, Ryan of Canton, GA, and three step great-grandchildren, Caleigh Peters, Owen Peters and Raegan Heald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Lorraine Anderson Peters on November 18, 2019. Friends will be received 7 to 9 P.M. Tuesday in the Ferguson Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 700 Broad Avenue, Belle Vernon. 724-929-5300 www.FergusonFuneralHomeandCrematory.com Funeral services will be in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11 A.M. with Pastor Mary Kay Glunt officiating. Burial will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The officers and members of the First Presbyterian Church will meet in the funeral home Tuesday at 7:00 P.M. to pay their respects. Face masks are required in the funeral home.
