Obituary

Joseph E.Rocchino,85,of Hill Street,Belle Vernon,died on Saturday,Sept,18,1999,in Jefferson Hospital. A son of the late Salverio and Victoria Ganino Rocchino,he was born on Sept.17,1914,in Calabria,Italy. Mr.Rocchino was a member of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church of Belle Vernon and had lived in Belle Vernon since 1930. He was a member and past president of the Western Pennyslvania Hairdressers Association and of the former Sons of Italy in Belle Vernon. He and his wife of 54 years,Clara Duronio Rocchino,had owned and operated Clara's Beauty Salon in Belle Vernon until their retirement in 1983. In addition to his wife,he is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law,Cheryl and Richard Giuliano of Upper St.Clair and Janice and John Butitta of Rockford,Ill.,and four grandchildren,Monica Travers of Upper St.Clair,Ensign Ryan Giuliano of the U.S.Navy,and Erin and Joshua Luce,both of Lake Mills,Wis. Friends will be received in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC.,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Monday from 7 to 9 p.m.and on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Prayer services will be in the funeral home on Wednesday at 9:30 a.m.followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m.in St.Sebastian's Roman Catholic Church with the Father Donald Trexler,parochial vicar,as celebrant. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Legion of Mary of St.Sebastian Roman Catholic Church will recite the Rosary in the funeral home on Tuesday at 3 p.m.
