Joseph E.Cope of Fayette City R.d.1;died Sunday;May 8;1977;at 8 a.m.at his residence following a lengthy illness. He was 59. Mr.Cope was born March 11;1918 in Washington Twp.;a son of the late John and Rozalia Yonkus Cope. He was a retired construction worker and was a veteran of World War II having served in the U.S.Army. Mr.Cope was a member of the Holy Spirit R.C.Church;Fayette City;Naomi Athletic Club;and Brightwell-Dougherty American Legion Post 484;Fayette City. Survivors include a brother;John;of Fayette City R.D.and several nieces and nephews. Friends are being received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;334 Main St.;Fayette City;where a Prayer service will be held Wednesday at 9:30 a.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10 a.m.in Holy Spirit R.C.Church;Fayette City;with Rev.Thomas Rinn;pastor;as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A wake service will be held in the funeral home Monday at 7 p.m. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
