Joseph Burruss,74,of North Charleroi,died suddenly Sunday, Nov. 7,1993,at home. He was born Jan. 7,1917,in Harvest,Ala.,a son ot the late Herbert and Mary Leslie Burruss. Retired from the United Coal Miners,he had moved from Alabama to the Charleroi area over 36 years ago. Mr. Burruss was Baptist by faith. Survivors include one son,Ollie Jr.Burruss of Detroit,Mich.;six brothers,O.C. and Theodore Burruss,both of Madison,Ala.and Ted,Harrison,Henry and Phillip Burruss,all of Huntsville, Ala.;seven sisters,Dorothy Mathews of Charleroi,Addie Lewis and Ree Burruss, both of Madison,Ala.,Eliza Teague and Corine Pickett,both of Huntsville,Ala.,Gloria Wesley of Chattanooga.,Tenn.,and Mary Doss of Nashville,Tenn.,his stepmother,Ethel Burruss of Alabama,a stepson,Luther Burruss of Detroit,Mich.and a stepdaughter,Betty King of Huntsville, Ala. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by 16 brothers and sisters. Friends will be received Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 9 p.m. in Mount Sinai Baptist Church,North Charleroi,where services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Wanda L.Sawyer officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The William R. Taylor Funeral Home,645 McMahon Ave.,Monessen,Trudy Taylor Jamison,director,is in charge of arrangements.
