Joseph Bruce Johnson Sr., 73, of Elco, died suddenly on Tuesday, May 3,1988, at 10:50 p.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. Born Feb. 4,1915, In Belle Vernon, he was the son of the late Charles and Virginia Johnson. He attended the Church of Jesus Christ of Roscoe, and was retired from the Allenport plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, where he had been a railroad worker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Belles Johnson, and three brothers, William, Fredrick and Randolph Johnson. Surviving are his wife, Dolores Telegraphis Johnson; four sons, Joseph Bruce Johnson Jr. of Georgia, Charles F. Johnson of Donora, Raymond Johnson of Belle
Vernon, and Bruce Clark Johnson, at home; two stepsons, Raymond Donaldson of Virginia and Ardell Donaldson of Roscoe; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and one sister, Lorelta Lee of California, Pa. Friends will be recieved Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Thursday from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. in the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Homes Inc., 1008 Furlong Ave., Roscoe. Services will be held Friday at 11 a.m.in the funeral home,with Elder Matthew Laktash,of the Church of Jesus Christ of Roscoe officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the Ed Melenyzer Funeral Homes,Inc.
