Obituary

Joseph Bennett (Benac),85,of 128 Nagy Ave.,Belle Vernon (Arnold City),died in Brownsville General Hospital Tuesday,March 14,1967,at 11 p.m. Mr.Bennett,a retired coal miner,was a member of United Mine Workers Local 2148,Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge No.11 and Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church of Fayette City. Born in Yugoslavia on March 6,1882,he was a son of the late Michael and Josephine Charlovitch Bennett. Surviving are his widow,Sophia,three sons,Nick and Mark of Belle Vernon,Michael of Fairhope,four daughters,Mrs.Michael (Mildred) Severovis of Charleroi,Mrs.Walter (Mary) Bielski of Monessen,Mrs.Thomas (Goldie) Ercegovic and Mrs.Joan Venable of Cleveland,Ohio,a sister in Europe,seventeen grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Friends are being received at the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City. Prayers there Saturday,March 18,at 9:30 a.m.followed by Requiem High Mass in Holy Spirit R.C.church,Fayette City,at 10 a.m. The Rev.William Gavron,pastor,will officiate. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. Howard W.McCrory,funeral director.
