While working on a customer in his chair;Joseph A.Johnson;65;well known Monessen barber;dropped dead Thursday;April 10 at 4:30 p.m. Johnson was able to pitch forward as he went about his tonsorial duties and slumped to the floor. He was pronounced dead of a heart attack by the doctor who was called. Johnson;while long engaged in the barber business in Monessen;lived however at 513 Bluff street;Belle Vernon. He had resided there for 22 years and was as well known in Belle Vernon as Monessen. He was a member of the Episcopal church of Kittanning. His wife Etta;five daughters and one son survive. They are Mrs. Solomon Sherild of Belle Vernon.Mrs.Wayne Osborne;Belle Vernon;Edith;Barbara and Dorothy at home. One son;Arthur;lives in Pittsburgh. Three grandchildren also survive. Friends are being received at the late home in Belle Vernon where funeral services will be held Monday afternoon;April 14;at 2 o’clock. Interment will be in Belle Vernon cemetery.
