John Yerga Jr.,of 1535 Boston Ave.,Monessen,died Friday,July 24,1987,in Mon Valley Hospital. He was 75. He was born Sept. 7,1911,the son of the late John and Judith Mateka Yerga. He was a resident of Monessen all his life and retired from the fabric department of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corporation in Monessen. He was a naval veteran of World War II and a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. He was a life member of the Monessen Volunteer Fire Department,Hilltop Station #2. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 47 in Uniontown and the American Legion Post 28 of Monessen. He also belonged to the National Rifle Association. A sister,Julia Helde preceded him in death. He is survived by three sisters, Mollie Bezuska of Monessen,Helen Sullivan of Stroudsburg and Margaret Piergalski of Uniontown,one niece,one nephew and four great-nieces. Friends will be received at the Robert A. Billick Funeral Home at Grand Boulevard and Marion Ave. from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
