Word has been received here of the death of a former Monessen resident, John Byrd,52,of New York City,on Tuesday,Sept. 28,1965 in St. Vincent Hospital,New York. Mr. Byrd was born in Jefferson County,Ala.on Aug. 15,1913. He is survived by six sisters and five brothers. Friends will be received at the Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home,Monessen after 7 p.m. Sept. 30. Funeral services will be held in the funeral home chapel on Saturday,Oct. 2,at 11 a.m. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
