Obituary

John W. (Chippy) Evans, 71,a former Belle Vernon resident who had been living with a sister in Monessen,died Monday morning, Sept. 27,1971in Charleroi-Monessen Hosptial.  He retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp in 1964.  Surviving are four sisters, Mrs. George (Blanche) Kuhar of Monessen, Mrs. William (Sarah) Hixon of Greenville,Pa.,Mrs. Matthew (Eva) Belback of Belle Vernon,R.D. and Frances Evans of Belle Vernon and two brothers, Marion Evans and Henry Evans,both of Belle Vernon. Friends are being received after 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Harold R. Toner Funeral Home,Belle Vernon,where visiting hours are from 2 to 5 and 7 to 10 p.m. Services will be held from the funeral home Thursday,at 2 p.m. with the Rev. John A. Graham,pastor of the Presbyterian Church at Monessen,officiating.  Interment will be in Belle Venron Cemetery.  Harold R. Toner,funeral director in charge.
