John Walters of Scottdale R.D.1died Thursday,Aug. 11,1983 at 4:40 p.m. in Frick Memorial Hospital in Mt. Pleasant. He was 55. Mr. Walters was born in North Charleroi on Nov. 13,1927,a son of the late Michael and Theresa Sailer Walters. He had lived in the Scottdale area since 1975 and prior to that lived for a long time in the Belle Vernon area. He was employed by the Hanna Mining Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio. He was a veteran of the Korean War. In addition to his parents,he was preceded in death by four brothers, Joseph,William,George and Elmer who died in July 1983. Survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Irene Guyden and Mrs. Genevieve Antiricovich,both of Stratford, Conn. Friends will be received at the Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home,700 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon,on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Services will be held Monday at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Dr. James L.Smith officiating. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Shelby D. Ferguson Funeral Home is handling the arrangements.
