Obituary

John W. Toth of Speers Hill and Treasure Island, Fla., died Thursday, April 10, 2003, in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born April 1, 1916, in Arnold city, a son of the late John and Cora Smith Toth. Prior to retirement, he owned and operated Toth's Speers Hill Market. He was a member of the Speers United Methodist Church, F&AM Charleroi Lodge 615, Syria Temple AAONMS of Pittsburgh, IOOF 1030 and BPOE 494, both of Charleroi, a social member of the Belle Vernon Legion, graduate of the Belle Vernon High School Class of 1934, the Golden Panthers and the Monongahela Valley Country Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Irene Andrews Toth, three brothers, Steven Kiki Toth, Louis R. Toth, and Thomas E. Toth, one niece, Linda Toth Souleyret, one nephew, J. Thomas Toth, and one great niece, Kristen Harper. Survivors include his wife, Helen Michelson Toth, three brothers, Joseph C. Toth of Belle Vernon, Melvin J. Toth and his wife, Betty, of Fayette City, and Clifford H. Toth and his wife, Theresa, of Belle Vernon, two sisters, Dorothy Jean Pierce of Fairbanks, Alaska, and Margaret Margie S. Forsini of Finleyville, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received in the FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., A Golden Rule Member Firm (724) 929-5300, 700 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon, on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. in the Speers United Methodist Church with the Rev. Jeff St. Clair officiating. Entombment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. F&AM Charleroi Lodge 615 will conduct Masonic services Monday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
