Obituary

John W. Lawson,39,of 1205 Highlnd avenue,Monessen,who was injured in an accident on now route 31,about one and one-half miles east of Speers early Saturday morning, May 5,1951,died in the Charleroi-Monessen Hospital at 11:40 on Saturday.  Before he died,he told State Police his car became disabled in the right lane of Route 31 while he was traveling towards Bentleyville.  While trying to flag down another auto,he said,a car operated by Mary Lenfant,of Charleroi,R.D.,crashed into his car. Police had not disclosed whether Miss Lenfant's auto struck the victim or if it was his own vehicle. Mr. Lawson was employed at the Co.,and was an active member of the American Legion,Joseph H. Ford Post 691. He is survived by his wife,Mrs. Bennie Lee Lawson;three daughters,Joyce Marie,Shirley Rose and Carol Ann,his mother,Mrs. Ada Robinson;a sister, Rosetta Robinson;two brothers,Henry Lawson and George Robinson. Friends are being received at the Beverly C. Draper Funeral Home until Tuesday when funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church with Rev. William Parker officiating.  Interment will be in the Belle Vernon Cemetery.
