Obituary

A memorial service will be held Tuesday,July 26,1983,at 10 a.m. at the Carl J. Spallino Funeral Home,819 Fallowfield Ave.,Charleroi for John Volosin. Mr. Volosin,69,of 511 Eighth St.,Charleroi,died Friday, July 22,1983 at 10:30 p.m. in the Washington Hospital Extended Care Facility in Washington,Pa. He was born June 21,1914, in Monessen, a son of the late Nicholas and Suzanne Pipik Volosin. He was  resident of the Mon Valley his entire life.  Mr. Volosin was retired from the Allenport Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was a Protestant by faith. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Pivovarnik Volosin. Mr. Volosin is survived by his wife, Cora Romito Volosin;two sons, David Volosin of Jamestown,Pa.,and Daniel Volosin of Finleyville;three daughters, Mrs. Charles (Marguerite) Cox of Roscoe,Mrs. Earl (Joan) Nall of Middlesex,N.J. and Mrs. Harold (Dorothy) Patterson of Mission Viejo, Calif.;one step-daughter,Mrs. Richard (Mona) Bimm of Indianapolis, Ind.; two brothers, Nicholas Volosin of Brooks,Fla.,and Andrew Volosin of Charleroi;two sisters,Mrs. Michael (Mary) Hreha of Charleroi and Mrs. Anna Bliss of Cleveland,Ohio and 13 grandchildren. Tuesday's services will be conducted by the Rev. Gerald McCormick,pastor of First United Methodist Church of Charleroi.  Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers,the family suggests that memorial donations be made in Mr. Volosin's name to either the John K. Tener Library in Charleroi or to the charity of one's choice.
