Obituary

John T. Jack Varega, 53, of Perryopolis, died Wednesday, Jan. 31, 2007, at 4:03 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital, Carroll Township. Born June 28, 1953, in Charleroi, he was the son of the late John F. and Bonny A. Lancaster Varega. A resident of Perryopolis, Mr. Varega was a retired real estate agent from Howard Hanna, and he also was a certified nursing assistant. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, serving with the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Varega also served with the U.S. Army National Guard. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and the Perryopolis Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Aldaleah Anderson Varega, to whom he was married 11 years, a daughter and son-in-law, Shawn and Jamie Braddock, of Louisiana, two step- daughters, Jennifer Azzaretto, of Perryopolis, and Marysa Clauson, of Connecticut, a step-son and daughter-in-law, Mark and Shannon Azzaretto, of Pittsburgh, two sisters and brothers-in-law, Gwyn and Ronald Halkias, of Valrico, Fla., and Beverly and Michael Tokar, of Carroll Township, a grandson, Jacob Braddock, of Louisiana, and two step-grandchildren, Elliot and Emmanuel Azzaretto, of Pittsburgh. Visitation will be held Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the LEONARD J. PARZYNSKI FUNERAL HOME, family owned and operated, 626 Broad Ave., Belle Vernon (724-929-6183). Services will be held Friday, Feb. 2, at 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home with the Rev. Allen Lee of Washington, Pa., officiating. Interment will take place in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
