John Thomas Mallabone, 61, of 213 North College street, Washington, died Sunday morning, May 22, l1938, at 1:30 o'clock in Hillsview Farms Sanitarium after a lingering illness. Mr. Mallabone was born in Lancashire, England, April 3, 1877, a son of the late John and Cisley Harold Mallabone. At an early age he came to America with his parents, and made then home in the Monongahela Valley. Since 1927 he had resided in Washington, where he engaged in the tire repair business at 59 East Chestnut street, Washington. He was a member of the Masonic Order. On May 29,1902 he married Celia Wilkins, who suivives. Also surviving are one son, Kenneth, of Washington, who has been associated in business with his father; three daughters, Mrs. Ethel Smith and Mrs. Virginia Hewitt, both ot Washington and Miss Alice Mallabono, at home, five grandchildren, and five sisters, Mrs. Lily Smith and Mrs. Sarah Booth, both of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Margaret Share of Gibsonia, and Mrs. Alice Betchtel and Mrs. Iva Landholm, both of Charleroi. Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Mallabone home, 213 North College street, Washington, with the Rev F. S. Hawkins, pastoi of the Methodist Protestant Church, in charge. Burial will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery.
