John T. Hamer,83, died Thursday, February 2, 1950, at 11:30 a.m. at the home of his nephew, J. Russell Snyder of 400 Shady avenue. Mr. Hamer came to Charleroi on Tuesday from San Gabriel, California, to make his home with the Snyders, but shortly after his arrival here, became critically ill. He had lived in San Gabriel for forty years, and was a gardener there until his retirement. He was born in East Pike Run Township and spent his early life in this district. He was a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wellington Hamer, Charleroi. Surviving are a number of nieces and nephews. His wife, Elizabeth Maude Hamer, preceded him in death. Friends will be received at the Lawrence B.Frye Funeral Home. Services will be held there Saturday,February 4,1950 at 2 p.m. in charge of Rev.K.W. McCracken. Interment will follow in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Lawrence B. Frye is the funeral director.
