John Shupenko Sr.of Dublin;Va.;formerly of Arnold City;died Saturday Jan.30;1982;at 1 a.m.at Radford (Va.) Hospital following a short illness. He was 64. Mr.Shupenko was born May 27;1917;in Pennsylvania;a son of the late Joseph and Ursula Shupenko. He was retired from Jones & Laughlin Steel Corp.;after 45 years of service. Mr.Shupenko was preceded in death by a son;John Shupenko Jr.;on July 28;1962. Survivors include his widow;Anna Dudak Shupenko;three daughters;Mrs.Joyce Oleinik of Beltsville;Md.;and Mrs.Catherine Stoots and Mrs.Veronica Sams;both of Dublin;Va.;nine grandchildren;one brother;Joseph Shupenko of Syprus;Calif.;and a sister;Mrs.Veronica Senyeri of Brownsville. Friends will be received in the Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home;Fayette City;from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.Tuesday and until 1:30 p.m.Wednesday;the time of prayer service in the funeral home. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2 p.m.in Holy Spirit R.C.Church;Fayette City;with the Rev.Thomas G.Rinn;pastor as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Howard W.McCrory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
