John Samek Sr.,83,of 316 Mikula Rd.,Arnold City,died Friday January 31,1969 at 1:30 p.m.,in Charleroi-Monessen Hospital,after a lingering illness. He was born May 12,1885,in Czechoslovakia. He was a member of Holy Spirit R.C.Church,Fayette City,and was a retired coal miner. Surviving are a son,Martin Samek of East McKeesport;one daughter,Mrs. Thaddeus (Anna) Tomalski of Arnold City;11 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Howard W. McCrory Funeral Home,Fayette City. Prayers there Tuesday,Feb.4,at 9:30 a.m.,will be followed by Requiem High Mass at 10 a.m.,in Holy Spirit R.C.Church,Fayette City,with the Rev. Joseph Tamiloski as celebrant. Interment,Belle Vernon Cemetery. The Rosary will be recited Monday at 8 p.m. Howard W. McCrory of Fayette City is the funeral director.
