Obituary

John (Too Small) Sakalik,68,of Belle Vernon R.D.2,died suddenly at 10:45 p.m. Thursday,Aug.25,1977 in Charleroi Division of Mon Valley Hospital. He was born in Webster on July 23,1909,son of the late Andrew and Susan Sakalik,and had been a lifelong resident of Rostraver Twp. Mr.Sakalik was a retired construction foreman from the Monesssen Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He belonged to the United Mineworkers of America and the Golden Agers of Belle Vernon. He was preceded in death by two brothers,Michael and George Sakalik. Surviving are his widow,Mary Ferenz Sakalik,one son,John George Sakalik of Belle Vernon R.D.2,one daughter,Dolores Sakalik of Dunlevy,two sisters,Mrs.William (Ann) Smoody of Pricedale and Mrs.John (Mary) Dolola of Romulus,Mich.,three grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Friends will be received in the Shelby D.Ferguson Funeral Home in Belle Vernon from 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday and from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday. Services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director in charge.
