Obituary

John S. Zapora,84,of 811 Washington St.,Belle Vernon,died Monday,May 28,1973,at 1:45 p.m. in Brownsville General Hospital. He was born in Poland on December 5,1888 and was a member of the Polish National Alliance of Monessen. Mr.Zapora was a retired coal miner,having worked 20 years for Victoria Coal Co.,Pricedale,and after retirement,operated Bernie's Daity Bar,Belle Vernon,for six years. He resided in Belle Vernon the past 26 years,coming from Monessen. Surviving are his widow,Mary Frenchek Zapora,three sons,Leon of Salenas,calif.,Martin,at home,and Carey of Venton Harbor,Mich.,four daughters,Mrs.Stephen (Sophie) Panso of McKeesport,Mrs.John (Violet) Zuro of Belle Vernon,Mrs.David (Bernice) Ross of Dearborn Heights,Mich.and Mrs.John (Mildred) Panyard of Melvindale,Mich.,16 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Ferguson Funeral Home,Belle Vernon from 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesday and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 10 p.m.Wednesday. Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home with the Rev.Felix Pysowski of Holy Trinity Polish Catholic Church of Washington,officiating. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. Shelby D.Ferguson,funeral director,in charge.
