Obituary

John S. Pushkar,87,of 109 Lee Drive, Belle Vernon,died Monday April 4,1988,at 3 a.m. in Mon Valley Hospital. He was born April 16,1900 in Bradock,a son of the late stephen M. andAnna Pushkar.  He was a member of St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon,where he also served as an usher for many years.  He had resided in the Belle Vernon area for the past 47 years. He retired in 1965 from the Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co.,Monessen plant,where he had worked as a guard at the 12th Street gate.  He was a social member of the Belle Vernon American Legion. Surviving are his wife,Anna Katherine Vargo Pushkar;a son,Leonard Pushkar of Orlando,Fla.;a daughter,Mrs. Walter (Mary Ann) Melanowski of Belle Vernon; a brother,William Pushkar of Monessen;a sister,Mrs. Mary Sirback of Belle Vernon;six grandchildren;seven great-grandchildren,nieces and nephews. Visitation will be Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home,626 Broad Ave.,Belle Vernon. Prayer services will be held in the funeral home Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. in St. Sebastian Roman Catholic Church,Belle Vernon.  Interment in Belle Vernon Cemetery.  The Leonard J. Parzynski Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
