Obituary

John R. Coffee, 67, of Belle Vernon (Arnold City), entered into Eternal rest Wednesday in the emergency room at Monongahela Valley Hospital on Wednesday, July 27, 2005. He was born in Fayette City on Sept. 13, 1937, the son of Mary Bialon Coffee, who survives and now lives in Cleveland, Ohio, and the late John S. Coffee. He was a retired employee of the Washington Township Municipal Authority, working for 30 years for the water department. John was a member of the PNA in Arnold City, the Naomi Club, and American Legion Post 484, both in Fayette City. He was an avid sportsman, loving hunting and fishing from his camp in Bedford. John was a member of Holy Spirit Roman Catholic Church in Fayette City. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his devoted and loving wife, Barbara Michaels Coffee, a sister, Patricia Marjak, of Cleveland, Ohio, a brother, Eugene Coffee and wife Margaret Coffee, of Penn Hills, a brother-in-law, Don Michaels, and many nieces, nephews and his friends at the Pit Stop in Fayette City, the American Legion and the Naomi A.C. Club. Friends will be received in the ELEY/McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main St., Fayette City on Saturday from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday from noon to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday, Aug. 1 until 9:30 a.m., when a prayer service will be held followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in Holy Spirit R.C. Church with the Rev. Fr. Leonard McAlpin as celebrant. Interment will be in Belle Vernon Cemetery. A parish wake service will be held Sunday at 7:30 p.m. in the funeral home.
